TJC change seems to require IDPH rule update?

I spoke with IDPR and they said they have not made any changes so continue to follow the state law until.

This is what I found regarding CMS: Interpretive Guidelines §482.22(a)(1) The medical staff must at regular intervals appraise the qualifications of all practitioners appointed to the medical staff/granted medical staff privileges. In the absence of a State law that establishes a timeframe for periodic reappraisal, a hospital’s medical staff must conduct a periodic appraisal of each practitioner. CMS recommends that an appraisal be conducted at least every 24 months for each practitioner. Interpretive Guidelines §482.51(a)(4) Surgical privileges should be reviewed and updated at least every two years. We are DNV accredited, which states: As defined by State law, not to exceed three years. We continue to follow CMS guidelines of every 2 years.

This is what I found for IL and CMS, but would love to hear if others agree. I think the key words are NO MORE THAN. State of Illinois "Recredentialing" means the process by which a health care entity, health care plan or hospital ensures that a health care professional who is currently credentialed by the health care entity, health care plan or hospital continues to meet the credentialing criteria used by the health care entity, health care plan, or hospital no more than once every 2 years. CMS – regular intervals. 24 months only if absence of state law.

Also...wondering for CMS - if surgeons should still be reappointed every two years.
